My blog is a safe, inclusive space.
I support the Black Lives Matter movement, and believe in equality for all. Just to be very clear, this includes BIPOC (Black, Indigenous and People of Colour), LGBTQ+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer), Non-binary people and all other marginalised communities and ethnic groups.
Equality is not something that is debatable. It is a fundamental birthright that so many people over centuries have been denied – everyone should have the right to live in comfort, safety and peace, being their incredible selves and able to dream big without fear or being judged.
I would like to share a quote from Harriet Tubman – an incredible African-American woman who escaped from slavery and over the course of her life freed over 1000 slaves, and lead an armed military operation against the Confederate forces during the American Civil War’s Combahee Ferry Raid, the first woman to do so.
“Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars and change the world.”
-Harriet Tubman
Due to a heavy university study workload, I have been unable to post on this blog this year as often as I would have liked, but now I am nearly finished my university courses for the year, I plan to share some genealogy and history posts on this blog again.
